6.6.2 SNMPSettings
Click on the SNMP Settings link under the Management menu. This option
allowsyoutoassignthecontactdetails,location,andcommunitynameandtrap
settings for SNMP. This is a networking management protocol used to monitor
network‐attacheddevices.SNMPallowsmessages(calledprotocoldataunits)to
be sent
to various parts of a network. Upon receiving these messages, SNMP‐
compatible devices (called agents) return data stored in their Management
InformationBases..
SNMPEnable /Disable:ChoosetoenableordisabletheSNMPfeature.
Contact:Specifythecontactdetailsofthedevice.
Location:Specifythelocationofthedevice.
Read‐Only Community Name: Specify the password for access the SNMP
communityforreadonlyaccess.
Read
‐Write Community Name: Specify the password for access to the SNMP
communitywithread/writeaccess.
Send SNMP Trap: Specify the IP address of the computer that will receive the
SNMPtraps.
TrapCommunityName:SpecifythepasswordfortheSNMPtrapcommunity.
ClickontheApply
buttontosavethechanges.
6.6.3 Backup/Restoresettings,Resettofactorydefaultsettings
Click on the Backup/Restore Setting link under the Management menu. This
optionisusedtosavethecurrentsettingsofthedeviceinafileonyourlocaldisk
orloadsettingsontothedevicefromalocaldisk.Thisfeatureisveryhandyfor
administrators who have several
devices that need to be configured with the
samesettings.
