QoS
Quality of Service (QoS) provides the ability to implement
priorityqueuingwithinanetwork.QoSenablestrafctobe
prioritized,whileexcessivebroadcastandmulticasttrafc
tobeavoided.TrafcssuchasVoiceandVideostreaming
which requires a minimal delay can be assigned to a high
priority queue, while other trafc can be assigned to a
lower priority queue resulting in uniterrupted actions.
Global Settings
State:
Select whether QoS is enabled or disabled
on the switch.
Scheduling Method:
Selects the Strict Priority or WRR to specify
thetrafcschedulingmethod.
• Strict Priority – Speciestrafc
scheduling based strictly on the queue
priority.
• WRR – Use the Weighted
Round-Robin (WRR) algorithm to handle
packets in priority classes of service. It
assigns WRR weights to queues.
Trust Mode:
Selectwhichpacketeldstouseforclas-
sifying packets entering the Switch.
• DSCP –Classifytrafcbasedon
the DSCP (Differentiated Services Code
Point) tag value.
• 1p–Classifytrafcbasedonthe
802.1p.Theeightprioritytagsthatare
speciedinIEEE802.qparefrom1to8.
