SNMP uses an extensible design, where the available
informationisdenedbyManagementInformation
bases (MIBs). MIBs describe the structure of the
management data of a device subsystem; they use a
hierarchicalnamespacecontainingObjectIdentiers
(OID)toorganizethemselves.EachOIDidentiesa
variable that can be read or set via SNMP. The SNMP
View List is created for the SNMP management station
tomanageMIBobjects.
Click the New button to create a new entry.
View Name:
Enter the view name. The view name can con-
tain up to 30 alphanumeric characters.
Subtree OID:
EntertheObjectIdentier(OID)Subtree.The
OIDidentiesanobjecttree(MIBtree)that
will be included or excluded from access by an
SNMPmanager.Notethattherstcharacter
must be a period (.). Wild cards can be used to
maskaspecicportionoftheOIDstringusinga
period (.).
Subtree Mask:
Select 0 or 1 for Subtree mask. The mask of
theSubtreeOID1meansthisobjectnumber“is
concerned”, amd 0 means “do not concern”.
View Type:
SelectwhetherthedenedOIDbranchwithin
MIB tree will be included or excluded from the
selected SNMP view. Generally, if the view type
of an entry is Excluded, another entry of view
type Included should exist and its OID subtree
should overlap the Excluded view entry.
Click the Apply button to accept the changes or the
Cancel button to discard them.
